Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Scope
These terms govern the use of the ScholarSlides app (Mac, iPhone and iPad) and of scholarslides.app. The app is provided by Hasan Bora Ulukapı (individual developer, Türkiye). For the app downloaded from the App Store, Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement also applies.
Your own keys and costs
The app runs on your own AI service keys (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and optional others). Following those services’ terms and paying their charges is your responsibility; each service bills you directly. The cost and time estimates the app shows are approximate.
AI output
Plans, text, drawings, speaker notes and suggested sources are generated with AI. They can be wrong, incomplete or made up, numbers and references included. Checking a presentation before you use it is your responsibility. The app is not a clinical decision support tool and must not be used for decisions about patient care.
Your content and copyright
The content you add and create with the app is yours. Respecting the copyright and licences of the papers, images and figures you add is your responsibility. Figures from open-access papers are added with their licence and source; you must follow that licence’s terms.
Patient data
Not sending identifiable patient data to AI services, and complying with the applicable laws (such as GDPR, HIPAA or KVKK), is your responsibility. The app’s scan in case presentations helps but does not guarantee anonymisation. See the privacy policy for details.
Paid features
If the app offers paid features or a subscription, purchases go through Apple; payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds follow Apple’s rules. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in your App Store settings.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, it is not guaranteed to run without interruption or errors, and no liability is accepted for data loss, for third-party services (AI services, PubMed, Europe PMC and the like) or for indirect damages. We recommend keeping backups of important presentations. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms we update this page; the date at the top shows the last update. Questions: support@scholarslides.app
